Submarine World

The Submarine World (海底世界) is a series of areas located underwater. The only inhabitant of this world is Oreko, who gives Sabitsuki the Diving Helmet effect.

By coming here from the Plant World, the player will arrive to the Submarine World entrance. The pillars lead back to the Plant World, by going up the player will arrive to the Submarine Plaza (海低広場), going in between two reeds on the right teleports the player to the Submarine Village, and by going down the player will end up in the Submarine Desert (海底砂漠). By arriving to this area from the Plant World, the player triggers a special switch that allows them to go to the Monochrome World by using the elevator in the Decaying Art Gallery.

It is also possible to go left in the entrance area, behind two identical rocks above the pillars. That route leads to a small TV room, which teleports the player to the Blue Electric World. This area can also be visited by interacting with a monitor in the White Room, and by interacting with the TV after the teleportation, the player will arrive at the Green Electric World.

The Submarine Plaza is a small area that leads to the Underwater Temple. When visited by Rust, this area will contain a single Fetus.

The Submarine Desert is a large area, where Oreko might be found. Each time the players goes flowing, the Oreko Random Counter2 is set on a random number between 0 and 14. If it is set below 10, Oreko will not appear in this area, but she will spawn in her house. She also will not appear if she was killed by the player, if the area is visited by Rust, or if she vanished during the deadhole event. If she vanished, her Diving Helmet spawns instead of her.

If Oreko Random Counter2 is at 10, Oreko will appear in front of her house, which is located south-west from the entrance to the Submarine Desert. If the counter is at 11, Oreko appears in the group of reeds to the left of her house. If the counter is at 12, Oreko will appear in the group of rocks to the right from the entrance. This Oreko does not give any money when the player kills her. Lastly, when the counter is at 13-14, Oreko spawns in the group of rocks to the left from the line of reeds.

Other points of interest in this area include Oreko's house, and a symmetrical formation of reeds. If the player goes between those reeds, they will arrive to the Blue Hole (ブルーホール) area. If the Desert is visited by Rust, two Fetuses will spawn here.

Each time the player enters Oreko's house, the Oreko Random Counter is set on a random number between 0 and 10. If it is at 10, Oreko will walk in her room, but if it is set below 10, Oreko will sit at the giant machine in the room. The walking Oreko does not give any money when the player kills her, and the Oreko on the machine does not spawn a helmet if she vanished. When Oreko's house is visited by Rust, a single Fetus will be waiting for her.

The Blue Hole area is a secluded area of the Submarine Desert, which is surrounded by stones. The player can go down the stairs to the south, which will teleport them to the Star World.

Trivia

  • Submarine Plaza has "submarine" written as 海低, while all other areas have it written as 海底. This might be a typo, since both of them are read as "kaitei".
  • Theoretically, the 11-counter Oreko might appear even if the Desert is visited by Rust, since that event does not specify that she should not spawn if the player switched to Rust.

Theories

  • None yet.
