Submarine Corridors

Second corridor

The Submarine Corridors (海底回路) consist of two connected areas.

The initial corridor is a dark place with lanterns that do not provide much light. There are several black red-eyed creatures here, and this area has three exits.

The southern leads to the Submarine City. The one on the right side of the northern wall leads to the second Submarine Corridor. The one on the left side of the northern wall leads to the Submarine Elevator (海底エレベータ) room. If the player reached the Submarine Corridors by starting in the Plant World, then going through the Submarine City, the elevator will take them to sea. Otherwise, or if the player went to the rightmost exit first, the elevator will take them to the Apartments.

The second corridor is called Prison Entrance (水牢入り口). It is brighter, and is often compared to an art gallery, as it is possible to view drawn images by interacting with frames on the walls. There is a couple of moving pieces from those images here, and the third one is in the elevator room. There is one Fetus here when this area is visited by Rust.

This corridor leads to two areas. The wide doorway on the left side of the northern wall leads to the Orange Maze. The narrow doorway on the right side of the northern wall leads to the Prison.

Trivia

  • The black creatures and moving images react properly to the Iron Pipe, Whistle and Handgun effects, but do not drop any money when killed.
  • In one of lol's videos he said that the design of these images was affected by The Sewers in Yume Nikki.

Theories

  • It might be possible that Sabitsuki drew the images herself.
  • The fact that the drawings feature eyes, screens, or both leads to the theory that perhaps Sabitsuki was under an almost constant surveillance which if considering the prior hospitalization would make sense.
